MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE

Mindless Self Indulgence (MSI) is an inflammatory band mixing punk rock and driving electronic music together to create an unrestrained sound. Since 1997, this band has been storming the electronic and punk scenes sweeping many hardcore fans in its wake with its music and albums such as the cult classic Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy.

Release & Show History:

After the release of several CDs and singles, MSI has been selling out headlining shows throughout North America for the last several years, with fans traveling from over 28 different states and four countries to watch the band perform. MSI has supported bands such as System of a Down, Korn, Stained and Rammstein during their tours and performed at the Voodoo Music Experience (twice) with Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age. The band has also headlined the Coachella Festival alongside Radiohead, The Cure, and The Pixies in 2004. Anyone that has seen them live can tell you that MSI's name truly manifests itself during their incendiary live shows.

Licenced in N. America by Metropolis Records in 2005, the band released their first album in April with the new label, You'll Rebel to Anything (shipping over 130,000 copies) . MSI's fanatical fans will be pleased to know that there will be three different versions of the release; a 10 track explicit version with a video for "You'll Rebel to Anything," an 11 track clean version with a video for "Diabolical," and an 11 track extra heavy double vinyl version. The clean and vinyl versions have two entirely different bonus tracks and all three have their own individual artwork. It will also be available in Japan this year with new artwork and exclusive tracks.

In March 2006, MSI presented fans with Straight To Video: The Remixes. The single debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot Singles chart and remained in the top 5 for several months following. (The single landed at #7 for Billboard's Top 10 Singles for 2006 Chart.) Two tours ensued later that summer in which they sold out many venues including The Fillmore in San Francisco and the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Almost a year later, STV is still on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart!

In September, the quartet released their second single from You'll Rebel to Anything entitled Shut Me Up: The Remixes +3. The scorching single featured remixes by Ronan Harris (VNV Nation), Ulrich Wild (Deftones, Rob Zombie, Static X), and Tommie Sunshine, as well as the demo version, two bonus remixes of "Straight to Video," and two previously unreleased tracks. Continuing where its predecessor left off, Shut Me Up: The Remixes +3 proved that these electro-punks cannot be stopped. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales charts and remained their for 6 weeks! Re-entering the #1 spot at the beginning of Jan '07, SMU is MSI's strongest single to date.

Rounding out 2006, MSI released a limited edition EP (exclusive in N. America through Hop Topic) entitled Another Mindless Rip Off which features five new demos along with five remixes of the third single "What Do They Know?". It has sold out in a matter of weeks. Metropolis will be repressing it for distribution in Canada.

The Videos:

Shut Me Up has gotten over a million views over the last 7 months while the new video for Straight To Video has received over half that amount in just 4 weeks!

New Releases for '07:

MSI will be releasing their first ever DVD, "Our Pain, Your Gain", capturing their 3 night stand at NYC's Webster Hall. They plan to tour extensively across North America headlining the second stage of this years Projekt Revolution. Look for MSI headlining tours outside the U.S. coming up as well.
